ABOUT THE FASHIONISTAS

When you join The Fashionistas you become a champion of the fashion arts, a mentor to fashion design students, a sponsor of fashion exhibitions, and a supporter of educational programming. Collectively, we position Dallas as a portal to the global fashion community. Founded in 2005 by Heidi Dillon, The Fashionistas now have more than 2,000 members. And, we are proud to support 600 Fashionista 2 members  from local high schools and colleges with scholarships and real-life experience in the fashion community.

ABOUT GENESIS WOMEN’S SHELTER

For twenty-five years, Genesis Women’s Shelter has been committed to providing quality safety and shelter to battered women and their children through crisis intervention and short-term crisis therapeutics and to reducing the occurrence of violence against women and children in the greater Dallas area.  Genesis Women’s Shelter is also committed to raising the level of community awareness regarding the pervasiveness and effects of domestic violence.  Our organization has provided free and confidential counseling and case management to over 25,000 women and children in the last twenty-five years.  In 2010, Genesis Women's Shelter celebrates our Silver Anniversary by honoring our past and embracing our future as we continue the mission of providing safety, shelter and strength to victims of domestic violence.
